where do homestay families live?

Posted on July 14th, 2010 by admin

hello
i’m going to attend an international language school in Berkeley. I will stay as a homestay, i mean that i will stay with a family and pay them monthly for room. Often the families that offer homestay are “lower class”. So my question is… Where are located this families? They told me the families live a reasonable distance away from the school (between 30 and 60 minutes by public transport).
So consider the distance and the “lower class” neightbourhood… where they could be? Which towns/neighbourhood?
Sorry for my english, it is obvious… i need to study it!
the school is located downtown berkeley

What you need to be concerned with is not the "lower class neighborhoods " but the "unsafe neighborhoods".

Ask where they are located and then check to see if that neighborhood is SAFE.

Can I online shopping while I am in a homestay(housing) program?

Posted on July 6th, 2010 by admin

Well I am currently living in south america and I will go to USA really soon and I will be in the homestay program(living with an american family) recommended by the college which I will be attending. So I was wondering if I could online shop and have my items bought delivered to the house I will be staying.

Thats how online shopping works doesnt it.

Finding the cheapest price online can take forever so I suggest you download this free web app which works with any major search engine like yahoo, google, ebay and so on and it will do an automatic online price comparison for you. This online tool is very new and was featured on CNN.
Watch the 1min video when you open it up.
