What program would be better for college?

What program would be better for college?
i want to do either people to people, or study abroad for a semester in australia. i cant do both because they are both extremely expensive. so which one would look better on a college application?
the semester in australia would be where i would have a homestay (probably my senior year) and go to high school in australia for a semester.

The study abroad for a semester in Australia would be better for college. Less people do that as opposed to the PTP programs, and you learn more because you’re actually living in a different part of the world and learning about their lives and culture more. I’ve been on a PTP program and although it was fun, I think the study abroad program would be much more rewarding.

Good luck! Sounds like you’ll have a great time going on either one though!

Is there homestay program in New York city?

Posted on August 26th, 2011 by admin

I’d be happy to know if there are any arranged homestay programes in New York city, where a family arrannges a week or 2 weeks long stay for foreign students free of charge, Im from Macedonia that’s a little country in Europe. and I will be required an invitation form from the family! I’m just currious cause I’ve been to such program in Turkey as freshman in highschool! Please if you know anything post a link or reply!

You have to stay a year and it is called The Aupair Program.
You go to school, help the family and get paid and boarding.

If you do not qualify, there are hostels that will let you stay.
All you have to do is answer the phones, housekeeping, etc.

I’m a student and will be studying at oz next year at around the moth of febuary. this september I will turn 17. I’m worried about my accommodation so can anyone help me ? Which will you recommend? Living in a homestay, in an apartment, or the school dorm? Any personal experience would be great .. Thx guys :)
Yeah I’m from another country,, but I’m still 17 can I live in student apartments?

if you will be in town then stay at home, if you are moving out of town then try to get all student apartments. don’t get dorms because you don’t have a kitchen, and many don’t have private bathrooms, also you have to share one room with another student.

Cambridge homestays & apartments.. so expensive?!?

Well I was planing to study at Sheffield University anyways but I had to go for a foundation at bellerbys college. I am paying for a homestay the same amount I can afford a luxury studio at sheffield. Is something wrong with my calculations or is it really that expensive? Do you recommend going to Sheffield next, or get a university at cambridge – such as cambridge university?
what is?

try premier inn

best accomodation to choose from when studying abroad?

Posted on August 19th, 2011 by admin

Soon enough I will be leaving my country and studying in the US for college. This year at september, I will turn 17. So I’m kinda confuse on where should I live? Dorms? Homestays or student apartments? And why. Any personal experience will be really helpful thx a lot guys :)

Which school in the United States will you be attending?

Certain college and universities require the incoming freshmen live on campus in dorms. In that case, you wouldn’t have any choice but to live in a dorm.

If you are not required to live in a dorm, then you can either rent a room in a private home OR rent an apartment (either by yourself or with a group of other students).

Aside from cost considerations, you should then about the type of person you are. If you are a solitary individual, then you will not want to have any roommates. However, if you are outgoing and sociable, then you would probably feel quite comfortable with a roommate (or more than one).

All these types of considerations will determine where you decide to stay.

has anyone of you experience staying with a host family and how was is like?

other than the cost difference, homestay being cheaper, what other pros and cons of homestay and hostel?

Should I offer to help Japanese host mother with chores?

Posted on August 12th, 2011 by admin

I am writing an letter of introduction to my Japanese host family and am not sure whether to include a line about helping with chores. I read in the homestay information that Japanese moms take pride in housework and may be offended if you try to help. Is this true? That just seems very strange to me and I would like to help if possible. It is only the mother, grandparents, and no father and she is a homemaker. Should I mention in the letter that I would like to help with chores? I just don’t want to offend anyone. Thanks!

It depends on each person. There is no single answer. It’s not bad to offer it anyway.

Which is best to do for college accommodation: home stay or sharing flat?

Posted on August 10th, 2011 by admin

I’m not even out of the country so cultural experience isn’t even an issue. It’s just that I want a good social life when I go to Bristol for college, and I believe accommodation plays a big part in that. So should I share an apartment, or do homestay (which would be cheaper for me). I’ll be 16 btw

I think it it better to share an apartment with your classmates. After living together, you will make close friends between each other and you will know a lot social activity .you will have lots of time to do your own things by plan and grow up by yourself , you will have more chance to decide what you can do and what you can not do.
