kochi – can you help?

Posted on October 14th, 2010 by admin

Hi I am planning a trip to Kochi in early December. I am from the UK. Can someone tell me the best places to visit, I will be spending one week in Kochi before I travel to Bangalore. What are the must see things in such a short trip?

I am thinking about booking my accommodation in a homestay – does anyone have any experience of this. What is the best area.

Sorry for all the questions i have been reading the lonely planet but there is overload on information.

Finally what sort of weather at this time of year and clothing to pack.

Many thanks in advance.
PS I am from the UK

Kochi formerly known as Cochin is a major city in the Indian state of Kerala. The city is one of the principal seaports of the country and is located in the district of Ernakulam about 220 kilometres (137 mi) north of the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram. I am sending you a complete guide about what to see ? where to stay? weather in Kochi etc check this link http://www.bookmytrip.in/india-tourism/cochin.html

This kicking rap video was a collaboration between three Italian travellers and the street children of Bujumbura, in Burundi. This is their story.
So where’s Burundi? Glad you asked! Burundi is located in East Africa, bordered by Rwanda, Tanzania and Congo. It has fantastic beaches, beautiful lakes and ancient forests. Hi, I am thinking of starting a tourist homestay venture in kenya.I seek an investor ?

Posted on June 23rd, 2010 by admin

Kenya being on of the best tourism destinations in Africa and the world, the industry offers alot of opportunities for investment.
The sector is affected by very high costs of accommodation in the big hotels.Being a Hospitality and tourism graduate i have noticed a great opportunity in leasing homes close to the beach and also creating a form of tourism where the tourists will stay with the villagers to learn an understand thier culture and way of life.
Kenya is one of the most unique destination in terms of culture in the world with over 42 tribes. All these have different cultures and practices. This is an attraction to the tourists visiting Kenya. With the knowledge gained in my college education i have some skills in running the business.
I seek an investor to help me realize this opportunity.A business angle who will invest in the business venture.Thank you.

Help with moving to Nepal?

Posted on June 17th, 2010 by admin

I visited Nepal (Kathmandu) last year to take part in a 10 week voluntary placement building a local school in a small village. I lived in a homestay with a nepalese family in the same village. I experienced warmth and hospitality from the nepali people that i had not encountered anywhere else in the world.

I feel in love with Nepal so much that i have decided to upsticks…
Sell all of my stuff.. say goodbye to my family and friends and start a new life in Kathmandu.

I am leaving for Nepal on October 20th 2010. I already know many people out there and i have been fortunate that one of my friends has a job as a TEFL(esl) teacher for me already lined up. The job is temporary for 5 months. Afterwards i will need to look for another job preferably as a TEFL teacher. Or any other job that would be suitable for a British english speaking national.

I also have accommodation and food provided for me for the 5 months to " set me off "….
Again, Afterwards i will have to find somewhere to live in Kathmandu and be able to have enough money to provide for myself.

So i have lots of questions i would like to ask you.
And i would be grateful for ANY info or advice :)

Sorry to list but there is a lot i would like to know.

1. Which Visa should i apply for if i plan to spend a couple of years (maybe more) in Nepal?
2. How easy is it for a British National to find work in the Kathmandu area?
3. How much is the general cost of living? food etc??
4. How easy is it to find somewhere to live in Kathmandu? Prices etc?
5. Are there many british people living in Nepal?
6. How safe will i be and what is the healthcare like in Nepal?
7. Any other advice or info you could offer me?

Thanks so Much

Namaste :)

1. Please apply for a temporary resident visa. You need a local to sponsor you, but in the long term it is a better option. Contact the Nepal embassy in London for details.
2. You will find limited jobs as language teachers or in the tourism sector.
3. You will need at least NRS 30000/- for a small family( food and accommodation) US$ 400+approx
4. You will find plenty of British people temporarily living in Kathmandu.
5. You will be safe but of course you have to take necessary precautions.Health care is private, crowded and expensive.
6. Nepal is a great country to spend a year or two. Friendly and welcoming but urbanizing fast and with rapid growth comes with the ills of a modern society.

Is it reasonable to ask for a trip to Montreal as a graduation present?

Posted on June 14th, 2010 by admin

I want to go to Montreal as a cheaper option to Paris, and I’d like to be in a homestay program and go to a french language camp. How do I convince my mom? The cost would be around 1600 but that includes accommodations, meals, activities, classes and materials. the plane ticket is 300. i’d really like to go

Tell her that this trip would help you learning French and a new culture, also leaving by your own, far from your family, is an experience, that would help you to develop as an grown up person.

So summarizing living all this experiences are priceless and would help you in your future life, specially learning French, that is something that will last for the rest of your life not like a material present.

CENTRAL & EAST COAST : Thailand

Posted on June 10th, 2010 by admin

Watered by the Chao Phraya River
and its tributaries, the Central Plains
are the agricultural heartland of the
country. A boat-trip along canals of
Nonthaburi passes by herb and vegetable
gardens and orchards. In
Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Ang Thong
and Uthai Thani, green rice paddies
stretch far as the eye can see, and
many villages offer home stay accommodation
and agricultural tours.
