I went to Japan through YFU on the summer of 2008 and here are some suggestions or some things to expect if you want to study abroad and homestay in Japan as well. I’ve also been to Japan two other times and have had many Japanese exchange brothers and sisters who lived with my family as well, so I at least know a little something of what I’m talking about. XD

   Here’s a tip I have …
   Here’s a tip I have for studying abroad: get a prepaid cell phone so you can contact home. I bought a TracFone before going on my trip to China and it was great! I was able to talk to my family for the same price as a local call using their International Long Distance plan. It’s affordable and definitely worth it. I would recommend looking into this phone company if you are looking to plan a trip abroad.
