Can anybody recommend a reputable homestay website?

Posted on February 7th, 2010 by admin

Hey all,

I’m looking for a website where I can search for host families in Europe and North America. If you’ve had any good experiences with or know of a website where I could arrange a homestay holiday, I’d be interested in hearing your answer.

Many thanks! x

For high school aged students the top three are AFS, YFU and Rotary.

However these are not HOLIDAY programs. You are expected to attend school and be a part of a family — including chores and activities.
If you are looking for a HOLIDAY, the STUDY abroad site is not the place to be.

You might want to try couchsurfing.com. It’s not an ideal setup, but I do have a very reliable and honest friend who has hosted many people through this service.

I am currently thinking of moving to France to teach English next year, and share your interest in finding a homestay website. I’d love to hear from you via email, to learn what you’ve discovered and to brainstorm ideas together. Take care!
