Two 20 year old girls, will be staying in Barcelona from May 22nd until mid June. We are looking for the cheapest, safe place to stay in Barcelona……where should I look? Are homestays expensive? Where do I find those?

Twizi.com lists places to stay for less than 25 dollars a night all over the world. Their Barcelona page is really great and has lots of options for any budget traveler.

   Cheapest . . . can you give a more informative price range?

   There are lots of places to stay, and generally Barcelona is a very safe city. Most of the crime that happens is quite petty (watch your wallet, camera, etc.) and most of the people vicitimized are tourists that aren’t being very careful.

   I don’t know anything about homestays, but I can ask around.

   One can also rent apartments for short term periods of time. Friends of mine have done that when they have family come into town. It’s typically cheaper than a hotel, and includes a kitchen.
